The only qualification I have to write with any sense of authority on womens shoes is this: I am an American woman who just can’t get enough of them.

How’s that?

So, I guess you could say my qualification then is pure ‘passion’.

So what is it with this fascination we have for what goes on below our knees?

I don’t have an answer right off the top of my head (does anyone?), but one thing I do know is this: Every time I’m wearing heels at work, I’m turning heads!

And I’m not talking about the guys too.

If there’s a favorite topic amongst the girls which never fails to stop traffic in the office, it’s who’s wearing what on their feet that day.

And believe me the stories go on & on … many stories to come in future Lady Perez blogs.

Shoes make me feel good. They give me lots of confidence.Are you into name brand shoes?

Let me re-phrase that, does your purse open kindly to name brands? lol

Seriously, years ago I was perfectly content wearing anything that looks nice regardless of what the label read.

My thinking was, do people really care ‘who’ you’re wearing on your feet?

Would they even ask?

I know my purse didn’t care much then, but today as I look back, a little education & awareness truly goes a long way.

No, that doesn’t mean I have a wardrobe full of Manolo Blahniks or Jimmy Choos, but I have become selective in choosing shoes that not only look great on moi, but give me that ‘glass slipper’ boost (you know what I mean too).

Shoes are always high on most womens shopping list – how many pairs do you own?

Remember Imelda Marcos – ex First Lady of the Phillipines? How many pairs of shoes did she own? Something like 3000 pairs pending on which media you believe.

A friend of a friend of mine wears heels around the house all day long. And we’re talking 5” stilettos for a good part of her work-at-home day.

Now is that a desperate housewife or what? lol

I guess it’s all part of the craziness women all around the world have with shoes?

But what about those countries where women don’t wear shoes? OK another topic for another time …

Guys may think it’s a crazy and shallow obsession we have, but hey, if my purse says yes, my money’s good on a $400 sexy pair of Taryn Rose slides any day!

Sweet ‘glass slipper’ dreams.
